Glenaden Shirts - The Company

A group of 108 people decided to do the impossible in 2000. They decided to take on the fashion world and produce fine shirts in the UK when so many others had decided that clothes could only be made in far off places. Design, marketing and sales functions were added to a first class production team and the rest, as they say, is history.

Now Glenaden produces over 300,000 shirts in the UK and overseas for over 150 premium retailers. You will find Glenaden’s shirts in most of the fashion centres around the world.

‘1...like no other’ has established itself across the UK and is acknowledged as a brand which is sophisticated, design-led, high quality and uses the most beautiful European fabrics.

Thread & Bone has surprised us all by establishing itself in the UK market place very quickly. A contemporary shirt label which delivers on style, detail, and a great fit for work or an evening out.

Spin is a new concept designed to make a statement. Clean lines with detail in a beautiful slim fit.

Coles is part of the Jermyn Street aristocracy. A fully matched shirt in luxurious two-fold fabrics.

Glenaden Shirts have inherited an amazing factory in the beautiful 'maiden city' of Londonderry. The Glenaden Factory has won many awards over the years. From being one of the most automated shirt factories in the world in the 1980's, the factory gradually transformed itself (back) into one of the most specialist shirtmaking facilities which exists anywhere today.

In the 1990's Glenaden became the first clothing manufacturer in Northern Ireland, and one of the first in the UK, to achieve Investors in People status through the company's training and development of it's employees. ISO9002 registration added incredible levels of quality control and improvement sophistication. A National Quality Award, an Investors in People Award and Environmental Awards followed.

Today, the factory employs over 110 employees making premium business and fashion shirts for some of the world's leading shirt brands along with their own brands '1...like no other' and Thread and Bone.

A specialist design and product development function continually develops new designs and techniques. They are working with the most premium fabrics being sourced from Europe - beautiful fabric textures, weaves and finishes which continue to lead the world.

There is an open invitation to all customers to visit Glenaden to experience the rare spirit, determination, skill, knowledge and dynamism which only 150 years of heritage and a contemporary desire to 'buck the trend' can achieve !
